EDI with Sage

Sage develops and sells ERP software for the efficient management of numerous business processes, which can be modularly adapted and expanded for companies of virtually any size. The software manufacturer promises its customers continuous development of its programs, so that users are always up to date when needed.

Over the years, Softzoll GmbH has successfully implemented many EDI projects with SAGE users from a wide range of industries. Initially, the Sage Classic Line version was provided with EDI connections, but in recent years Sage Office Line has become increasingly popular among users. The older versions offered the option to purchase an EDI module from the manufacturer, but this was primarily geared towards the automotive supplier industry and only applied to a limited extent to the more modern EDI requirements based on EDIFACT across all industries. With this in mind, sophisticated EDI exchanges were mapped on the basis of ASCII interfaces for both Sage Classic Line and Sage Office Line in order to be able to use the up-to-date functionalities of a modern EDI pre-system.

With Sage 100, the renowned software manufacturer has now been providing users with a more flexible, modular ERP system since 2018, which—unlike the previous versions Sage Classic Line and Sage Office Line—also offers the option of implementing business process-driven electronic data exchange via modern XML interfaces. However, Sage 100 still offers the option of generating ASCII-based ERP interfaces to connect to an EDI subsystem in order to meet contemporary EDI requirements. The Softzoll EDI format-independent global ERP interface integration technology supports both Sage ASCII and the more modern XML interfaces of the Sage 100 version.
